Tokyo 2020: It’s Only Win or Nothing for Nigeria Basketball

Though Football has always been Nigeria’s favourite sport with historic success but now eyes basketball for glory at the Tokyo Games.

“We are not going for the experience, we are going to Tokyo to win”, Mike Brown Said.

Over the years, 210 million people made history when their football team hit gold in Atlanta but history has refused to occur at the ongoing Tokyo Games where both the men's and women’s football fails to qualify thereby shifting the desire to win a medal to other sports.

Since the Nigeria football team, the D’ Tigers squad is dominated by players from the diaspora who play in the NBA, Oyedeji emphasized the need to put a stop to segregation and advocated for better opportunities for the players based in Nigeria.

In his words, Olumide Oneyeji the former D’Tigers Captain said “It’s not a crime to be born in Nigeria, it’s not a crime to play in Nigeria, it’s not a crime to reside in Nigeria.
